August Special Offer!

Client Tip of the Month!

Here’s a hot tip from your humble newsletter scribe. Use Microsoft Word to create the content for your newsletter so you can save and edit it. Then before you send it to everyone test it by sending it to yourself. If you don’t want to show upcoming programs set the dates 5 years in the future. Finally be sure to send it from the Communication button as that’s the easiest.

Please join us for free webinars. Webinar topics are generally problems experienced by other clients and how they have successfully overcome them. We also include best practices. Wednesday Webinars are a great way to learn from the experiences of similar people.

New Software Release v2.1.4 – August 17, 2010!

We are very excited to let you know that the next release of the Rainier platform will be in just over two weeks. As is typical for a release there are a number of new features, enhancements to existing features as well as various “bug” fixes. As with all releases, it is client requests that drive our software development team. We want to thank our clients for all of their requests and suggestions as that is what makes the software better for all of us.

 

Here is a list of some of the improvements:

 

1.      New Photos for People – You asked to add photographs for people (registrants, volunteers, etc.) for various reasons including better security, reduced liability, to make rosters more interesting and to allow printing of membership cards. We’ve added the ability to collect photos as part of registration, via self-service in the My Account page and in the desktop together with various “settings” to enable your organization to use them. The “Import People and Accounts” feature has also been enhanced to support uploading of photos directly to the desktop.  

2.      New Auto Team Builder – You asked for an auto builder that would make it easy to assign registrants to teams based on skills assessments or rankings. The intent is typically to ensure that all teams have similar skill sets so games are competitive and not blowouts. The new auto team builder allows multiple assignments so pitchers can be done separately from infielders or middies separately from attack men.

3.      Improved Dashboards – You asked to be able to copy and save the dashboard image so it could be pasted into emails and documents like Word and Excel. We’ve also added

4.      Send Team Page Emails Reliably – You asked to be able to send emails – to participants and volunteers – more reliably by not using an individual’s own email software. Too many people and coaches thought their messages had been sent out when they hadn’t or were caught in spam filters. What we’ve done is to change the way all emails are sent from the Team Pages so that all emails are sent by our internal system.

5.      Merchandise Added to Web view – You asked to add merchandise ordered as part of registration onto the web view. This allows web view admins to view and export to Excel both the registrant and merchandise information from the client website.

6.      No Coach Double Booking Across Programs – You asked to change Schedule Builder so it would ensure coaches are not double booked across programs. The current functionality ensures coaches are not double booked within the same program so this addresses the needs of coaches who work in multiple programs.

7.      Additional Notifications – You asked for additional notifications and we’ve added a second one for membership renewal, pay in person reminder and pay in person past due. This provides the option to change the messaging in these notifications. A low transaction warning notification has also been added.

8.      Multiple Deletes – You asked for the ability to delete multiple items at the same time instead of one by one. We’ve added this capability for Categories in Programs and Media in Documents and Images. 

 

As with all releases, Rainier will be down for maintenance on Tuesday August 17th from 10-12pm PDT. Desktop users will automatically be logged off and the newest version will be automatically installed. The Rainier Community

Most clients are not aware of the Rainier Community that consists of over 2500 local community websites. Each day thousands of people use Rainier Community websites to find relevant organizations and activities in their community – like the ones you offer! The Rainier Community websites are very useful and so top rated by the search engines. Rainier clients automatically receive prominent positioning on the Community websites. This generates new business for you - all the time - typically 20% according to client feedback. Rainier includes a number of compelling features only available to clients – and best of all - at no cost to you:

·         A rotating "Featured Organization" listing on the relevant home page(s). The listing includes a color graphic and short description highlighting your organization. Clicking on this directs them to your registration website.

·         All of your activities that are currently open for registration are listed. This includes a summary listing on the home page(s), a complete listing on the Activities tab and the ability to search for your activities. All links click through to your registration website.

·         An automatic listing in the searchable directory. That includes your website, address, map, contact information and much more.

·         Automatic inclusion on all the relevant websites. For example, if you were a youth soccer club based in San Jose, CA that also ran summer camps you would be included in the www.SanJoseYouthSports.com, www.CaliforniaYouthSoccer.com, www.CaliforniaSportsCamps.com, and  www.CaliforniaYouthSports.com websites.

·         All information is automatically updated so you don't need to do anything.
